About the Role
Support a student with a disability in their daily school life and provide assistance with personal care tasks. This role is crucial for fostering inclusion and ensuring the student can participate fully in their education.
Responsibilities
- Accompany the student during lessons, breaks, and school activities.
- Provide structure and orientation, preparing the student for new situations and guiding them through uncertain moments.
- Support communication by observing individual expressions and helping the student convey needs and wishes.
- Perform personal care tasks after proper instruction, respecting the student's privacy and autonomy.
- Assist the student with mobility using their wheelchair throughout the school day and during activities.
- Collaborate with teachers, legal guardians, and the coordination team, documenting observations and support provided.
Requirements
- Experience in supporting individuals with disabilities, in school assistance, education, or care.
- Willingness to reliably perform personal care tasks; practical experience is a plus.
- A calm demeanor, patience, and the ability to act thoughtfully and respectfully in challenging situations.
- Attentiveness to individuals who communicate without spoken language and openness to their unique communication methods.
- Reliability and commitment to building a continuous, trusting relationship.
- Independent work style combined with a willingness to coordinate closely with all involved parties.
- Availability for 20 hours per week during school hours.
