About the Role
Join the platform team at an early-stage AI company focused on manufacturing supply chains. You will develop the backend services, data systems, and AI capabilities essential for managing material procurement and movement within intricate workflows.
Responsibilities
- Design and scale backend services using Next.js API routes, background jobs, and serverless functions for high-throughput order processing.
- Build and productionize LLM-based agents, AI/ML infrastructure, and RAG patterns for quote analysis and supplier recommendations.
- Design PostgreSQL schemas, migrations, and complex queries for materials, quotes, orders, and supplier relationships.
- Build reliable event-driven pipelines for order state management, notifications, and cross-system synchronization.
- Implement caching and rate limiting to support dependable external API integrations.
- Establish monitoring, alerting, and observability practices, and own incident response for backend systems.
Requirements
- Staff or Senior Staff-level experience with a proven track record of building products and systems from inception.
- 4 to 12 years of professional experience.
- Professional TypeScript experience.
- Recent hands-on experience with Next.js.
- Full-stack experience across TypeScript, Python, and Go.
- Strong data engineering background, including data pipelines and large-scale data processing.
- Hands-on AI development or AI infrastructure experience, including production LLM products, LLMOps, model evaluation, and familiarity with the broader AI/ML lifecycle.
- Experience with AWS or other cloud infrastructure, including security and data privacy.
- Experience owning internal tools and systems end to end.
- Manufacturing supply chain, procurement, or logistics domain knowledge is valuable.
