About the Role
The Office of the District Attorney, Bronx County seeks an experienced and enthusiastic IT Systems Engineer to support its mission of ensuring public safety and striving for equal justice.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain x86-based servers, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security.
- Manage Cisco switches and network devices for efficient and reliable data communication.
- Collaborate with IT colleagues to plan, implement, and support the transition to Nutanix Hyper Converged Infrastructure environments.
- Deploy, scale, and manage Azure instances to meet cloud-based needs.
- Implement and manage IGEL-powered VDI systems for efficient and secure laptop and desktop management.
- Participate in the design and implementation of data center modernization initiatives.
- Conduct regular system monitoring, performance optimization, and security assessments.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software problems and coordinate with vendors for technical support.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new technologies.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.
- Provide mentorship and knowledge sharing to junior team members.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering, human computer interaction, interactive media, digital and graphics design, data visualization, communication or a related field, and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain.
- An associate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering, human computer interaction, interactive media, digital and graphics design, data visualization, communication or a related field, and six years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain.
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, and eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain.
- Education and/or experience which is equivalent to the above degree and experience requirements.
