About the Role
As a fully qualified Class 1 Driver, you will be responsible for delivering products to customers safely and responsibly, while also taking care of yourself on the road. Drivers are a crucial part of Palletforce Logistics.
Responsibilities
- Use of a handheld terminal to record accurate information
- Occasionally drive class 2 and 3.5t vehicles during peak periods
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Drive Class 1 vehicle safely and responsibly
- Perform daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness and safety
- Inform the transport office of any issues in a timely manner, such as delays
- Ensure fitness to drive, considering alcohol intake, daily rest, and medication
- Arrive at jobs on time
- Provide excellent customer service
- Maintain health and safety standards
- Operate in a safe manner, adhering to all road rules
- Ensure all paperwork is correct, completed, and returned to the transport office
- Deliver goods to various locations
Requirements
- Class 1 Driving Licence (C+E)
- Valid CPC
- Digital Tacho Card
- HGV/LGC Class licence with 12 months experience
- Previous experience is essential
- Refrigeration and multi-drop experience would be beneficial
- Completed a CPC Training Course
- Strong geographical and logistical knowledge
- Good communication skills, spoken and written
- Ability to build good working relationships with colleagues and customers
- Adaptable start and finish times
- Ability to prioritize workloads and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to self-motivate, self-manage, and work autonomously and as part of a team
- Friendly and helpful nature with an excellent work ethic
- Must have the legal right to live and work in the United Kingdom
