About the Role
As a fully qualified Class 1 Driver, you will be responsible for delivering products to customers safely and responsibly, while also taking care of yourself on the road. This is a crucial role within Palletforce Logistics.
Responsibilities
- Use of a handheld terminal to record accurate information
- Occasionally driving class 2 and 3.5t vehicles during peak periods
- Maintain cleanliness of vehicle
- Driving Class 1 vehicle safely and responsibly
- Ensure you do your daily vehicle checks to make sure your vehicle is roadworthy and safe to use
- Ensure you inform the transport office of any problems in good time i.e. if you’re running late
- Fit to drive; considering alcohol intake, daily rest, prescribed/over the counter medication that could affect your ability to drive
- To ensure you arrive at your job on time
- Provide excellent customer service
- Maintain health and safety standards
- Operating in a safe way, following all road rules
- Ensure all paperwork is correct, completed and returned to the transport office
- Delivering goods to various locations
Requirements
- Class 1 Driving Licence (C+E), Valid CPC, Digital Tacho Card
- HGV/LGC Class licence with 12 months experience
- Previous experience is essential
- Refrigeration and multi-drop delivery experience highly desirable
- Completed CPC training
- Demonstrate strong geographical and logistical knowledge
- Experience in wide-load transport would be advantageous, although it is not essential
- Good communication skills, spoken and written
- Ability to build good working relationships with work colleagues and customers
- Adaptable in start and finish times
- Ability to prioritise workloads and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to self-motivate, self-manage and work both autonomously and as part of a team
- Friendly and helpful nature with an excellent work ethic
- Must have the legal right to live and work in the United Kingdom
