About the Role
BJ's Wholesale Club is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Produce Associate. This role is crucial for maintaining the quality and presentation of our fresh produce department, ensuring members receive excellent service and high-quality products. You will be responsible for sorting, displaying, and replenishing produce, as well as assisting members with their needs.
Responsibilities
- Sorts, displays, removes, and replenishes fresh fruits and vegetables in the produce department.
- Maintains the overall environment of the department by providing assistance to Members through product knowledge and customer service.
- Ensures that all produce meets or exceeds company quality standards.
- Carries out job functions and responsibilities as assigned.
- Supports the application of club policies, procedures, and compliance.
- Acts with honesty and integrity, leading with the member in mind to address any and all concerns and to escalate any concerns, as appropriate.
- Ensures a safe and positive environment for members and colleagues.
- Works as a team to achieve goals.
- Maintains a friendly and positive attitude.
- Delivers service excellence through all points of contact.

- Ensures all items are stocked and promotional plans are executed.
- Maintains visible, accurate signage.
- Keeps areas clean and organized, inside and out.
- Understands how to access and read production and/or financial performance reporting for the department.
- Assists Members in the produce department, answering questions, recommending products, and assisting with finding products.
- Inspects, rotates, and stores produce upon delivery, ensuring it meets or exceeds company standards.
- Rotates produce on the sales floor, ensuring cases and display areas are fully stocked and neat.
- Removes products that are no longer suitable for sale.
- Maintains the produce reserve stock area, dating and rotating back stock items.
- Follows established guidelines when disposing of damaged, spoiled, and/or expired products.
- Assists Fresh Manager with inventory and order processing.
- Cleans and sanitizes all produce equipment, display fixtures, and areas.
- Generates signage for produce goods and performs price check functions.
- Maintains all club policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
- Maintains regular, predictable, full attendance.
