Help protect the Bank’s federal self-insurance licence while delivering safe, durable return-to-work outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Manage a small portfolio of complex claims end-to-end, from commencement through determination and, where relevant, dispute and legal processes.
- Make all relevant determinations on claims in accordance with the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988, reviewing claim status and liability to maintain the correct or preferable decision.
- Devise, implement and regularly review strategic plans and effective rehabilitation programs that drive safe, durable and timely return-to-work outcomes.
- Exercise delegations across both claims and rehabilitation matters, including approving payments within delegated authority.
- Provide technical advice and guidance to Case Managers on complex matters.
- Work collaboratively with the team on claim strategy, technical issues and problem-solving.
- Support quality assurance and auditing activities.
- Communicate confidently with claimants, internal stakeholders, senior management, rehabilitation stakeholders and legal teams, and represent the Bank at external forums such as conciliations and tribunals where required.
Requirements
- Bring extensive workers compensation case management experience.
- Ideally, offer significant Comcare and SRC Act 1988 experience and a strong understanding of the scheme.
- Have a demonstrated ability to manage complex and disputed claims.
- Apply strong technical judgement and provide practical advice to other experienced Case Managers.
