About the Role

We are seeking committed volunteers available for a weekly 3-hour shift at our outpatient facility in West Harrison. Volunteers at this location will provide general support to patients and staff in the lobby, chemo or Radiation Oncology areas. Applicants must be open to serving in any of these areas based on current needs.

Responsibilities

Support patient flow by escorting patients and providing general navigation support.
Assist with communication between patients, clinic staff, nurses, and treatment teams.
Support front desk staff by updating patients on wait times, providing locker room/changing instructions, and escorting patients to appointments.
Help with rooming patients and wheelchair transport.
Provide non-clinical comfort items such as warm blankets or water.
Keep the unit stocked with necessary supplies.
Help staff keep the unit clean and organized, ensuring patient changing rooms are tidy, wiping down equipment, or moving patient handling devices as directed.

Requirements

Age 16+
Able to commit to a weekly 3-hour shift for at least 6 months.
If a former or current MSK patient, must be out of active treatment for at least one year.
Friendly and comfortable engaging with patients, families, and staff.
Reliable and proactive.
Must be flexible and willing to support areas based on daily needs.
Onboarding must be completed within 4-6 weeks.
Application may be rejected if pending onboarding tasks for 30+ days.
