About the Role
Blythedale Children's Hospital is seeking Respiratory Therapists to provide care for medically fragile and complex pediatric patients. The Respiratory Therapy Department is known for its collaborative and evidence-based approach, utilizing the newest technologies and adhering to current clinical guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality respiratory care to pediatric patients with complex medical needs.
- Serve as a consultant to nurses, physicians, and other healthcare team members.
- Ensure that care delivery and clinical protocols reflect evidence-based practices.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes.
- Participate in ongoing departmental education and training.
Requirements
- Minimum of two years experience rendering direct professional cardio pulmonary care in a hospital or healthcare setting, pediatric experience preferred.
- Experience in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) preferred.
- Long Term Care experience preferred.
- New Graduates with RRT will be considered with References from at least two clinical instructors.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle a variable workload.
- Working knowledge of computerized software programs.
- On feet most of day patient care/moving high pressure cylinders/equipment.
- Lifts supplies/equipment.
- Requires visual acuity and manual dexterity to maintain the airway and manually ventilate the patient during Code Blue.

- Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy (BSRT) preferred
- Active New York State Respiratory Therapist license
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the NBRC
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association
Salary/Compensations
- USD $60.00 - USD $60.00 /Hr.
