About the Role
As the Clinical Nurse Manager, you will manage patient care delivery for Labor and Delivery, serving as a clinical resource and administrator. You will facilitate efficient daily operations, promote a culture of safety and quality, and collaborate with the Director of Nursing on unit goals. You will also monitor staff compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Manage patient care delivery for Labor and Delivery.
- Serve as a clinical resource and administrator in the absence of unit leaders or when care-related issues arise.
- Facilitate efficient and cost-effective daily operations of the unit(s) in relation to patient throughput including admissions, discharges and transfers.
- Promote a culture of safety and quality by ensuring continuity and consistency in the implementation of established standards, protocols, policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing in the establishment of units short and long term goals and ensures its alignment with the hospital’s overall strategic goals.
- Monitor staff compliance with regulatory, hospital and divisional requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Current New York State RN license
- 2+ years of acute care RN experience in Labor and Delivery
- Certified Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from the National Certification Corporation
- BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
- All employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.
