About the Role

Transporters are essential to ensuring a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for patients and their families at NewYork-Presbyterian. This role involves escorting patients, building relationships with families, and providing superior customer service while ensuring patient comfort and safety. You will transport patients to various hospital departments and handle deliveries of medical records, lab specimens, and pharmacy items. You may also need to change O2 tanks and apply O2 regulators.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a culture of compassion, caring, warmth, and support.
• Escort patients to areas throughout the hospital.
• Respond to patients' needs and inquiries politely and promptly.
• Build solid relationships with patients and their families.
• Deliver superior customer service and ensure patient comfort and safety.
• Transport patients from nursing units to various hospital departments.
• Make pick-ups and deliveries of Medical Records, Lab Specimens, and pharmacy items.
• Transport other equipment.
• Change O2 tanks.
• Apply O2 regulators on conveyance vehicles.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to follow simple directions.
• Requires registration with the 1199 Job Security Fund.
• All roles require on-site presence.
• Employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.
• NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.

Skills
