About the Role
Ainsworth is seeking HVAC Technicians to join their growing team in the Greater Toronto Area. The role involves assembling, installing, repairing, and maintaining HVAC and Refrigeration equipment, products, and systems.
Responsibilities
- Represent Ainsworth professionally and courteously on every call as a company ambassador.
- Read, interpret, create, and maintain drawings and specifications.
- Install, overhaul, service, and repair air conditioning, heating, and related equipment and systems.
- Repair and adjust valves, piping connections, fittings, and couplings.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with heating and air conditioning units and systems.
- Install motors, thermostats, and humidistats.
- Instruct customers on proper equipment care and maintenance.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of assigned apprentices.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of modern equipment and regulations.
- Interpret company policies and enforce safety regulations.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Perform all job functions safely in accordance with health, safety, environmental policies, and government legislation.
- Adhere to the Company’s Quality System operating procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
- Provide support and backup for other administrative duties as requested.
Requirements
- Must be a current member of Local 787 union.
- Certified Red Seal Refrigeration/HVAC Mechanic.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Current driver's license.
- Valid and up-to-date Certificate of Qualification.
- Knowledge and skill of trade tools, equipment, materials, and practices.
- Knowledge of applicable HVAC/R codes, standards, and regulations.
- Knowledge of trade hazards and safety precautions.
- Skilled in verbal and written communication.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
