This role involves turning ambitious client goals into AI-powered solutions, owning the entire project lifecycle from kickoff to tangible business outcomes. It's a hands-on, technical product role requiring close collaboration with engineering and direct client interaction.

Responsibilities

  • Shape what we build and why by translating ambiguous business problems into crisp problem statements, user journeys, and success metrics.
  • Define success criteria with customers.
  • Turn messy problems into shipped solutions by translating ambiguous needs into clear requirements and PRDs.
  • Run planning with engineers.
  • Define what good looks like for an AI system and drive to achieve it.
  • Build working prototypes early to learn user needs and identify technical risks.
  • Assemble and label ground-truth data with client experts, checking for coverage, consistency, and gaps.
  • Plan how ground truth data gets maintained and extended.
  • Work with engineers on prompts, context design, and evals for AI systems.
  • Run offline evals against ground truth during development and online evals on live traffic after launch.
  • Propose fixes for AI system failures and iterate until production quality is met.
  • Make product-level calls on model choice, retrieval and agent design, context management, and build vs. buy decisions.
  • Own the tradeoffs associated with technical decisions.
  • Drive the day-to-day rhythm of multiple AI products, including planning, check-ins, and risk tracking.
  • Coordinate between clients, engineers, designers, and teammates to ensure work is unblocked and on time.
  • Work with client teams on rollout and enablement to drive adoption.
  • Bring back insights to inform Ode's playbooks and product direction.
  • Provide judgment and clarity in ambiguous situations.
  • Own a team-wide initiative such as delivery playbooks, learning and development, or hiring.
  • Experiment with AI tools and add effective ones to the shared PM toolkit.

Requirements

  • Typically 5+ years of experience in product management, engineering, or data science.
  • Strong engineering, data, or technical PM background.
  • Ability to whiteboard an end-to-end architecture.

  • Ability to use AI tools to build a medium-complexity system that holds up.
  • Knowledge of how modern AI systems behave in practice.
  • Understanding of when retrieval beats agentic search.
  • Knowledge of how to manage context across long multi-step tasks.
  • Understanding of when a reasoning model is worth the extra latency and cost.
  • Knowledge of where tool-using agents tend to break.
  • Ability to explain AI tradeoffs to a CTO and defend a design under technical questioning.
  • Ability to model complex questions about a system with numbers, including cost per transaction and accuracy tradeoffs.
  • Logical, extensible, and scrutinizable analysis.
  • Ability to act as a translation layer between novel technical concepts and business outcomes.
  • Ability to run a working session with client stakeholders.
  • Ability to present to client executives.
  • Ability to keep client relationships healthy as plans change.
  • Client-facing or consulting experience is a strong plus.

  • Clear and direct communication.
