About the Role
This role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you. This part-time position offers flexible scheduling, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and/or the public by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities at a utility location.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, hazardous-condition reports, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established notification and escalation procedures.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facility buildings, grounds, parking areas, perimeter areas, and restricted locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor access points, verify credentials as assigned, document visitor and contractor activity, and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual conditions.
- Prepare clear, accurate activity and incident reports and communicate relevant information to site contacts, supervisors, and emergency responders as needed.
Requirements
- A minimum of two years of security-related experience is required.
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
- The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
