About the Role

Parks and recreation is a relationship-driven market where buying decisions start at industry events. As Field Marketing Lead, you will own Rec's in-person presence nationwide, turning it into pipeline by building the events calendar, managing sponsorships, creating hosted events, and partnering with Sales. This is a builder role where you will define the playbook and budget for the first dedicated field marketing function.

Responsibilities

  • Own the events strategy, building and managing an annual calendar of conferences, trade shows, and industry gatherings.
  • Decide event participation levels and rationale.
  • Manage sponsorships, booth design, shipping, swag, speaking slots, staffing, and logistics.
  • Design and run customer dinners, regional roadshows, executive roundtables, user groups, and webinars.
  • Partner with AEs and SDRs on territory plans, pre-event outreach, meeting booking, and post-event follow-up.
  • Own lead capture, routing, and handoff.
  • Activate customers as champions through speaking, paneling, and reference programs.
  • Launch targeted regional and account-based campaigns using events, direct mail, email, and digital tactics.
  • Track cost per meeting, pipeline sourced and influenced, and ROI by event.
  • Report results and reallocate budget based on performance.
  • Own the field marketing budget, association relationships, and vendor partnerships.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in field, event, or regional marketing, ideally at a B2B SaaS company.
  • Proven track record of owning a multi-event calendar and tying events to measurable pipeline and revenue.
  • Strong partnership with Sales.
  • Exceptional project management skills.
  • Comfort with CRM (HubSpot or Salesforce) and marketing automation for lead management.
  • Clear, confident communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel roughly 30-40%, with heavier stretches during conference season.
  • Scrappy, ownership mindset suited to a fast-growing startup.
