About the Role
This Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position offers a flexible and dependable option for individuals seeking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career with an industry leader. The role provides reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility to earn more by picking up additional shifts.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or members of the public while carrying out site-specific access-control procedures and security-related policies at a government location.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorizations, maintain visitor logs, and direct guests in accordance with established procedures.
- Respond to access-control alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to appropriate personnel as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entrances, public areas, and perimeter locations to help identify unauthorized access or unusual activity.
- Complete accurate reports and communicate observations, incidents, and access-related concerns to site contacts and Allied Universal supervision.
Requirements
- Possess 3+ years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or a college degree.
- Possess 5+ years of security-related experience.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Skills
- Alarm panel experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- A Guard Card or license is preferred.
