Responsibilities
- Control inventories by tracking weekly sales and ordering pharmaceutical stock to meet customer demand and maximize profits.
- Weigh, measure, mix drugs, and fill prescriptions accurately.
- Advise self-medicating patients and dispense non-prescription medications.
- Maintain open communication with health and insurance professionals.
- Perform patient immunizations.
- Schedule pharmacy associates, reward performance, discipline staff, and assign tasks in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager.
- Assist with training and development of department personnel to improve performance and control costs.
- Monitor and improve operations to control department expenses and reduce losses.
- Respond to customer complaints and provide counseling on prescription-related issues.
- Identify areas for customer service improvement and collaborate with the pharmacy manager to address deficiencies.
- Maintain a safe and clean department according to company, health department, and OSHA standards.
- Maintain appropriate department records and submit required pharmacy reports.
- Cooperate with co-workers and superiors to ensure smooth department and store function.
- Continuously improve job performance.
- Perform duties of staff as required.
