About the Role
We are hiring a Senior Engineering Manager, Cloud Infrastructure, to own and evolve the technical foundation that powers everything we build. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will be deep in the infrastructure yourself, writing Terraform, operating AKS clusters in production, and showing up to incidents with a diagnosis, while leading and growing a team of engineers.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve Azure cloud infrastructure with a focus on reliability, security, and cost efficiency.
- Drive infrastructure-as-code practices using Terraform and Terragrunt, promoting a code-first approach.
- Lead container operations on Kubernetes and mature deployment and service running practices.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for confident shipping.
- Build and maintain Data Infrastructure in the Cloud: Fabric, Database, and Warehouses.
- Own incident response, from diagnosis through postmortem, and drive improvements.
- Partner with security engineering to harden infrastructure and achieve compliance goals.
- Build AI-augmented observability for faster issue experimentation and remediation.
- Lead, grow, and hire infrastructure engineers, fostering clarity, removing blockers, and building a culture of ownership.
- Collaborate with Backend, Product, and Security teams on architecture and launches.
- Set the standard for observability and reliability across the engineering organization.
Requirements
- 8+ years of engineering experience, with significant time managing cloud infrastructure teams.
- Comfortable in design docs, code reviews, and leadership meetings, operating at multiple altitudes.
- Deep, hands-on cloud infrastructure experience (Azure preferred, but AWS/GCP with Azure eagerness is competitive).
- End-to-end DevOps ownership: CI/CD, IaC (Terraform/Terragrunt), Kubernetes, and release practices.
- Strong security mindset: AuthN/AuthZ, network isolation, secrets management, zero-trust, and production infrastructure hardening.
- Proven ability to drive developer productivity improvements through internal platforms, toolchain automation, or developer experience initiatives.
- Actively uses AI tools and has driven structured adoption on a team.
- Experience leading distributed teams across time zones, keeping remote engineers aligned and energized.
- Thrives in ambiguity, moves fast with incomplete information, and adjusts quickly to shifting priorities, ideally in a startup or high-growth environment.
- Payments or crypto domain knowledge is a plus.
- QA/testing infrastructure experience is a bonus.
- Intellectual curiosity and a fast ramp-up ability are valued over specific background.
