About the Role
Performs a variety of clinical and clerical services in a clinic or Physician's office, including taking basic vital signs on patients, documenting chief complaint, and assisting in minor in office procedures. Cross coverage for Moses Rehabilitation Medicine site is required as needed.
Responsibilities
- Take and record patient’s height, weight, health history and vital signs including blood pressure and blood drawing (venipuncture) and EKG’s
- Sterilize instruments and equipment using appropriate sterilization workflow.
- Order and maintain supplies and prepare examination rooms.
- Maintain abnormal results laboratory, pathology specimens and logbooks such as medication temperatures logbooks and Baclofen patient logs.
- Assist in clerical procedures such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, making appointment confirmation calls, recording messages, and completing forms, medical records, and requests for lab tests and X-rays.
- Performs routine tests as needed such as urinalysis, blood sugar and hematocrit
- Provide patient education for wellness.
- Prepare examination rooms, cleaning, and sterilizing surface areas.
- Assess patient’s condition and determine if emergency exists.
- Responsible for obtaining authorizations and scheduling diagnostic studies.
- All other related functions as directed by the manager.
Requirements
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
Skills
- Phlebotomy
- 12 Lead ECG
- Basic Cardiac Life Support
- Basic Life Support (BLS)

Experience Level
- 2 years experience as a direct care provider in a related clinical setting (or combination of education and experience acceptable to the Director of Nursing)
- Emergency Department positions preferred EMS training or medical corpsman experience
Education Level
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Certificate of successfully completing a Patient Care Technician training program with presentation of competency based orientation and Basic Cardiac Life Support.
- Graduate of state approved nursing assistant certificate program
Salary/Compensations
- $32.39 per hour
