About the Role

As a Nordstrom Rack team member, you will contribute to a fast-paced, high-energy environment by collaborating with teammates to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all customers. You will ensure a quick and easy customer experience and maintain a clean and clutter-free store. Flexibility is key, as you may occasionally work in different areas of the store.

Responsibilities

Ensure the salesfloor stays "runway ready" through re-merchandising and straightening.
Assist customers with a variety of transactions, operating a point-of-sale system, and handling merchandise.
Create a smooth fitting room experience by greeting and assisting customers and sorting clothing.
Maintain organized stockrooms and ensure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed.
Demonstrate expertise in all store technologies.
Adhere to all operational, merchandise, and asset protection standards.
Promote initiatives like the Nordstrom Rewards program.
Receive, unload freight, unpack and deliver newly arrived merchandise.
Fulfill customer orders in a timely manner following quality standards.
Prepare and ship customer’s orders following quality, packing and shipping standards.
Utilize inventory management systems to scan, process and research merchandise shipments.
Assist in maintaining clean and organized selling floors and stockrooms.
Provide general support to the store, including setting up special events, organizing backrooms, markdowns, and relocating store fixtures.

Requirements

Clear, effective communication with strong interpersonal skills.
Accountability, initiative and a high level of ownership.
Organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
The ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
Continuous movement for 6-8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing and reaching.
Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
Ability to handle bulky and sometimes awkwardly shaped items, including reaching for and lifting these items above the head.
Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
Stock and Fulfillment Only: Frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
