About the Role
As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and deliver exceptional customer service and communication. You will support a welcoming environment through routine rounds, observation, and timely reporting. Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and government facility personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting activities according to site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned areas, building exteriors, access points, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity and help deter unauthorized access.
- Monitor access to the location by verifying credentials, observing visitor activity, and following established entry and visitor-management procedures.
- Prepare accurate reports and maintain required logs for patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related concerns.
Requirements
- Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
- Have at least one year of security-related experience.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
