About the Role
Direct manufacturing operations performed in a shift or group of production lines, ensuring they reach volume, quality, and cost goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead the production of several processes/lines in a highly technical environment.
- Evaluate plant operating performance and advise on changes to improve efficiencies and quality.
- Lead a team of operators to meet quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness requirements.
- Troubleshoot and analyze operational problems and advise on their resolution.
- Coach performance and improve operational understanding and capability.
- Solicit and evaluate ideas for plant improvements and collaborate with engineers on project proposals.
- Provide technical and operational advice to project teams.
- Act as a principal interface between the operation team and the maintenance function.
- Engage in training and coaching of junior operators.
- Prioritize production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply to meet customer requirements.
- Initiate and participate in process development and cost improvement projects.
- Assist in department budget planning and management of department expenses.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree or equivalent experience.
- 1 year of operations experience.
- Ability to operate telephones, data entry, and office software.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
- Ability to define and solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists.
- Ability to collect data, establish facts, interpret a variety of instructions, and draw valid conclusions.
