About the Role
The Senior Technician, Scratch runs scratch testing in the lab and turns the results into clear, customer-ready reports. This person is the go-to for how the test is run, how the data is collected, and how it is presented in the lab's standard report format. This is a fully on-site, first-shift position, Monday through Friday. It is a strong fit for a technician who wants to build range across mechanical testing and not stay in one test area.
Responsibilities
- Prepare samples and run scratch testing in the lab following established procedures
- Set up test conditions, check that the equipment is working properly, and flag anything that looks off
- Collect test data accurately and review it for quality before it goes into a report
- Compile results into the lab's standard report format, with clear and accurate findings
- Prepare reports that meet the customer's requirements and are ready to go out
- Learn the other mechanical tests used in the lab, including why each is used, what the data looks like, and how it can be applied
- Work with other teams across the site to support testing needs and keep work moving
- Keep the work organized and documented so results can be trusted and repeated
- Keep the work area and equipment in good order and follow lab safety practices
Requirements
- Associate's degree
- At least 4 to 5 years of relevant experience conducting lab testing
- Hands-on experience running tests and collecting data accurately
- Ability to turn test data into clear written reports
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work fully on site, first shift, Monday through Friday
