About the Role
Certified Nursing Assistants at Masonicare at Mystic assist residents with activities of daily living and personal care to maximize independence, freedom of choice and quality of life. The official title for this role is Residential Care Assistant.
Responsibilities
- Provides assistance with essential activities of daily living and personal care to residents based on age, needs and abilities, including bathing, dressing, ambulating, toileting, meal assistance, personal hygiene, transferring, and care of assistive devices.
- Provides assistance with instrumental activities of daily living, including phone calls, light housekeeping, laundry, escorting residents, and mail delivery.
- Assists residents with self-administration of medications through cueing.
- Observes and reports changes in residents' physical condition and cognitive/emotional status.
- Conducts room checks, monitors environmental safety hazards, and records incidents, errors, or accidents.
- Assists with dining tasks, including escorting residents, setup, cleanup, and serving meals.
- Participates in and supports the resident-centered activity program and completes required documentation.
- Acts as a resident advocate at all times.
- Follows agency policies concerning confidentiality.
- Uses tactful communication in sensitive situations and follows up on reported complaints or concerns.
- Acts as an ambassador to guests and visitors.
- Performs other duties as required.

- CNA Certification is a must.
