About the Role
The New York Times is seeking frontend engineers for impactful, hands-on roles to join various teams. This is an opportunity to be part of the digital revolution of a historic institution with a mission to seek the truth and help people understand the world.
Responsibilities
- Join a cross-functional team including design, product, and newsroom editors.
- Work with current technologies including React, GraphQL, and CSS Modules.
- Have a voice in the direction of our products.
- Work at scale to help deliver journalism to millions of users globally.
- Contribute to all parts of the stack and broader architectural discussions.
- Participate in open-source projects and share work at conferences and the Times Open blog.
- Demonstrate support for journalistic independence and commitment to the company's mission.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of educational or professional experience with front end engineering.
- 6 months+ of professional experience working with current web technologies.
- Experience working in a highly collaborative environment with peers from different backgrounds and skill sets.
- Enjoy finding creative solutions to technical challenges and appreciate the balance between strong convictions and a pragmatic approach.
