About the Role
The Counter Server/Barista is responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service to members and guests at Court 7 Grill, maintaining a high level of hospitality and professionalism. This role ensures compliance with health, sanitation, and safety regulations while following established service standards.
Responsibilities
- Accurately take and enter member and guest orders into the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, smoothies, and alcoholic beverages.
- Provide attentive and efficient food and beverage service, including delivery to tables.
- Maintain clean and organized dining areas by bussing tables and resetting them.
- Restock food, beverage products, supplies, and smallware as needed.
- Safely operate food and beverage production equipment.
- Promote coffee and specialty beverage offerings by educating members and guests.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of all food and beverage menu offerings.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked work area.
- Provide professional, friendly, and attentive service.
- Maintain a strong understanding of health, food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations.
- Take members/guest orders using correct member names/numbers/sub-numbers.
Requirements
- Interests in coffee program; must be passionate about coffee.
- Active TABC and Food Handlers’ certification required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Retail, hospitality, and/or customer service experience preferred.
- Strong ability to multi-task.
- Ability to problem-solve quickly.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to speak clearly and concisely for effective communication.
- Excellent verbal skills required to supervise personnel effectively.
- Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to address customer personalities in various business situations.
- Routinely requires sitting, standing, walking, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, holding, twisting, reaching, climbing stairs/ladders.
- Ability to lift at least fifty pounds.
