About the Role
Join GFT, an award-winning architecture, engineering, and construction firm, as a Data Analytics Intern. Gain real-world experience in a dynamic and inclusive environment that fuels innovation and fosters a sense of belonging. You will work alongside experienced professionals supporting a major infrastructure program, gaining hands-on experience organizing and analyzing project data, developing dashboards, and creating reports to inform project team decisions.
Responsibilities
- Support the development of Power BI dashboards and reports that communicate project performance and key metrics.
- Prepare management reports, presentations, and other reporting deliverables using Excel, Power BI, and related tools.
- Improve data quality, reporting processes, and business intelligence capabilities.
Requirements
- Must have worked on a personal, work, or academic project using scripting to sort data and present dashboards.
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Finance, Data Analytics, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Basic to intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including organizing data, using formulas, sorting/filtering, and creating basic charts or PivotTables.
- General comfort working with data, spreadsheets, numbers, and reports.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to check work for accuracy.
- Must have the ability to organize information from multiple files or data sources.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and explain findings in simple terms.
- Willingness to learn Power BI, Power Query, data modeling, and DAX with guidance from the project team.
- Ability to work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, project controls staff, and other team members.
- Interest in learning how data and dashboards are used to support large infrastructure and construction programs.
