About the Role
Supervise all aspects of quality during the production shift, working closely with operations to ensure finished products meet specifications and customer expectations.
Responsibilities
- Comply with all GMPs, SQF requirements, and other Food Safety related items.
- Ensure direct reports comply with all Company Food Safety Policies and federal regulations.
- Maintain compliance with all Plant Safety policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Ensure direct reports comply with all Safety requirements.
- Provide input in department and program development.
- Foster Continuous Improvement and a team environment.
- Act as a facility advocate for Food Safety and Quality.
- Monitor and implement policies, programs, rules, and regulations for compliance.
- Troubleshoot and problem-solve as needed.
- Assess QA programs’ efficacy.
- Coordinate and administer QA programs and work flow.
- Investigate consumer/customer complaints and develop response and corrective actions.
- Supervise hourly Associates and Team Leaders/Coordinators to ensure efficient and effective workflow.
- Oversee daily functions of QA lead/lab tech.
- Develop work schedules for all technicians.
- Navigate plant and grounds to support Audit programs.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Food Science or related field required.
- Proficient and effective use of communication and Microsoft Office.
- Must be highly organized and work well under pressure.
- Must be able to work independently, as well as under supervision.
- Must be able to work effectively with others.
- Possess good interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Willing to accept responsibility and show good judgment, initiative, and resourcefulness.
- Cross-functional in all areas of the department.
- Troubleshoot and correct issues.
