About the Role
The Granite Club is seeking a seasonal Recreation Camp Counsellor to lead campers through activities, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment for children in the Recreation camp program.
Responsibilities
- Perform safe check-in and check-out of campers daily.
- Assist children in preparing for activities.
- Provide a safe and fun environment for campers.
- Ensure adherence to camp rules.
- Address parent questions or concerns regarding the camps.
- Engage campers in indoor and outdoor games.
- Encourage campers to participate in sports and recreation activities to the best of their abilities.
- Maintain punctuality for shifts and ensure preparedness for daily activities.
Requirements
- Minimum Grade 12 education.
- Must be a responsible and patient individual who enjoys working with children.
- Must be physically active and enjoy playing sports, including basketball and soccer.
- Ability to foster children's love for sports.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- WHMIS Safety Training.
- Experience working with children is an asset.
- Previous experience as a camp counselor is an asset.
- Must successfully complete a criminal background check and vulnerable sector search prior to employment.
