About the Role
The Granite Club is seeking a seasonal Recreation Camp Leader to guide counselors and campers through activities, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment for children in the Recreation camp program.
Responsibilities
- Safely check campers in and out daily.
- Assist children in preparing for activities.
- Provide a safe and fun environment for campers, ensuring rules are followed.
- Address parent questions or concerns regarding the camps.
- Engage campers in indoor and outdoor games.
- Encourage campers to participate in sports and recreation activities to the best of their abilities.
- Arrive on time for shifts and be prepared for daily activities.
Requirements
- Minimum Grade 12 education.
- Previous Camp Counselor experience is an asset.
- Must be responsible and patient, enjoying work with children.
- Must be physically active and enjoy playing sports, including basketball and soccer.
- Experience working with children is an asset.
- Previous experience as a camp counselor is an asset.
- Ability to foster children's love for sports.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- WHMIS Safety Training.
- Must pass a criminal background check and vulnerable sector search.
