About the Role
We are looking for a Manager to own the onboarding of new internal and external data sources onto our ecosystem. You will explore how these assets could grow into an inventory-as-a-service solution, partnering with Machine Learning, Engineering, Product, Data Science, and Commercial teams. You will sit in the Central Operations group within our New Verticals Strategy & Operations organization and report into a Senior Manager. You will manage a team of two.
Responsibilities
- Build new data sources from ideation to production, including sizing opportunities, structuring partnerships, running pilots, and scaling winners.
- Imagine what's possible with new sources and new commercial models, including inventory as a service, and turn bold ideas into roadmaps.
- Connect real-world signals from retailers, syndicated data, CPGs, robots, and software partners to improve selection coverage, price accuracy, inventory accuracy, and Dasher navigation.
- Define commercial and business metrics to evaluate data source performance and make clear scale, iterate, or stop decisions.
- Partner with Engineers, Data Scientists, Product Managers, and Commercial teams to integrate sources and drive measurable impact.
Requirements
- Ability to think 0 to 1, energized by ambiguity, and think boldly about new sources.
- Creative approach to business models and understanding how data becomes a product.
- Understanding of the interplay of commercial and business metrics, and how they translate into conversion, retention, and cost.
- Analytical skills to extract and communicate meaningful insights from data to drive strategic decisions.
- Comfort with SQL and data visualization tools.
- Operator and partner mentality, comfortable with data quality and store-level operations.
- Ability to build and negotiate relationships with external vendors, CPGs, and technology companies.
- 6-8+ years of experience in high-performing cultures (tech, supply chain, operations, strategy, business development, consulting, banking, startups, or related experience).
- Experience with data partnerships, vendor management, or retail data is ideal.
- Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance, and any other state or local hiring regulations, we will consider for employment any qualified applicant, including those with arrest and conviction records, in a manner consistent with the applicable regulation.
