About the Role
We need you to analyze switch systems, define requirements for sensors and data acquisition, accompany pilot installations on real infrastructure, and collaborate with data scientists to detect failures early and make maintenance predictable.
Responsibilities
- Development and implementation of technical product concepts for monitoring solutions in railway infrastructure and on vehicle components
- Analysis of railway systems in the interplay of mechanics, electrical engineering, signaling technology, operations, and maintenance
- Requirements management from capturing customer-specific needs through technical specification to tracking and implementation in the system
- Systems engineering from requirements through interfaces, architecture, integration, and testing to operator acceptance
- Definition of sensors, data transmission, data quality, diagnostic functions, and alerting concepts for robust field applications
- Planning and support of pilot installations, measurement campaigns, field tests, acceptances, and technical proofs
- Active implementation of solutions together with customers on-site as well as independent coordination with operators, development partners, testing authorities, and internal teams
Requirements
- Completed studies in railway engineering, transportation, electrical engineering, mechatronics, or computer science
- Experience in the railway sector, ideally with infrastructure, vehicle technology, signaling technology, maintenance, or operator processes
- Knowledge of technical systems, operating conditions, and requirements in the regulated railway environment, including understanding interfaces
- Knowledge of relevant sensors, e.g., force, displacement, temperature, vibration
- Familiarity with IoT architectures with edge and cloud components and experience in data analysis or data-driven products
- Experience with systems engineering in a regulated environment
- Ability to mediate between railway experts, developers, and management
- Hands-on mentality; willingness to be on-site at the track
- Analytical thinking skills
- Proficiency in German and English
