About the Role
AMD is seeking a Business Planning Specialist to formulate and apply mathematical modeling and optimizing methods to assist management decision-making. This role requires knowledge of the PC/semiconductor industry, demand and supply planning, supply chain management, and operations management to analyze complex business problems and provide insights.
Responsibilities
- Formulate and apply mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information that assists management with decision making.
- Employ knowledge of the PC/semiconductor industry, demand and supply planning, supply chain management and operations management.
- Analyze complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers.
- Identify and interpret trends and patterns in datasets to locate influences.
- Construct forecasts, recommendations and strategic/tactical plans based on business data and market knowledge.
- Submit weekly build plans that comprehend backlog, sales forecast, and BU buffer plan to enable the Client BU to meet or exceed revenue and margin targets.
- Analyze historical data, product trends, and market/customer insights to ensure forecasts support business goals while minimizing inventory exposure.
- Support Sales & Operations Planning processes (S&OP).
- May directly produce datasets and reports for analysis using system reporting tools.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology and Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field.
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology and Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field and two (2) years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, Operations Analyst, or related.
- Experience developing dashboards.
- Experience maintaining inventory systems allowing for tracking.
- Experience with Python and SQL.
- Experience working cross functionally and driving alignment across teams.
- Experience driving process improvements.
- Experience may be gained through graduate-level coursework, research, or internship experience.
