About the Role

The Corporate Communications Specialist helps design and continuously improve Meridian's digital employee communications experience, ensuring employees can easily find, understand and act on the information they need. The role combines exceptional internal communications and storytelling with digital channel management, knowledge management, data and AI fluency.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and continuously improve Meridian's enterprise internal communications channels, including the intranet, enterprise newsletters, town halls, and other digital employee communications.
  • Serve as a channel expert, advising on the most effective format, structure, timing, and digital experience for employee communications.
  • Publish and maintain content in SharePoint and other content management systems, overseeing templates, editorial standards and publishing practices.
  • Own and continuously improve communications content governance, including information architecture, metadata, content lifecycle, search and discoverability, working with business content owners and technology partners to maintain trusted, AI-ready information.
  • Work with decentralized content owners to improve content quality, accessibility, consistency, and usability through clear standards, templates, toolkits and self-serve resources, while maintaining appropriate governance and escalation pathways.
  • Apply AI-ready content principles, including clear page structures, meaningful titles, structured information, and accessible web content.
  • Create and adapt multimedia communications, including presentations, videos and digital assets, using tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, Bynder or similar platforms.
  • Use generative AI and emerging technologies to improve content development, research, synthesis, planning, measurement, workflow efficiency, and knowledge sharing.
  • Experiment with and test prompts, agents, emerging AI capabilities, automated workflows and low/no-code solutions to identify and help implement solutions that improve how the team works and scale communications support.
  • Apply critical thinking, fact-checking and communications judgment to AI-generated outputs to ensure they are accurate, appropriate and aligned with Meridian standards.
  • Maintain trusted communications knowledge, resources, templates and processes so information is current, organized and easy to find.
  • Develop clear, compelling content for enterprise communications programs and major corporate initiatives, including intranet articles, newsletters, executive messages, presentations, speeches, scripts, key messages, videos, Q&As, town halls and the annual report.
  • Translate complex business information into accessible, audience-focused communications that explain what is changing, why it matters and what employees need to know or do.
  • Support enterprise communications programs, campaigns, leadership events and strategic initiatives, balancing planned work with emerging priorities.
  • Script, film and edit internal communications videos in line with brand standards to support executive communications.
  • Apply strong editorial judgment and quality control to ensure communications are clear, accurate, accessible, and consistent with Meridian's voice.
  • Lead communications measurement and intelligence, using channel, search, content-health and employee behaviour data to assess reach, findability, understanding, adoption and action; identify trends; and recommend improvements to content, channels and communications approaches.
  • Conduct experiments and A/B tests where appropriate.
  • Coordinate enterprise town halls, live events and employee sessions, including workbacks, milestones, speaker materials, rehearsals and digital event logistics.
  • Manage the internal communications calendar and collaborate with the external communications specialist to maintain an integrated view of enterprise milestones, campaigns, events and amplification opportunities.
  • Oversee communications intake and triage, including the Corporate Communications mailbox, and use automation and self-service approaches to improve efficiency while providing flexible execution support across team priorities.
  • Take ownership of assignments, anticipate requirements and risks, and keep multiple deliverables and stakeholders on track.

  • Ability to simplify complex business, research or technical information and create clear, compelling content for different audiences.
  • Experience managing digital communications channels and publishing in SharePoint or another enterprise content management system.
  • Demonstrated AI fluency, including using generative AI for content, research, synthesis or workflow improvement, and comfort experimenting with prompts, agents and emerging capabilities.
  • Understanding of digital content structure, metadata, search optimization, discoverability and content governance.
  • Experience using communications analytics to assess performance, identify insights and inform recommendations.
