About the Role
PDT Partners is seeking a Data Strategy & Sourcing Specialist to identify and source new datasets, collaborate with quantitative researchers, and recommend datasets based on financial market expertise. This role is crucial for the long-term success of PDT.
Responsibilities
- Understand and monitor the data landscape and financial markets
- Source and conduct initial evaluation of new datasets
- Communicate data recommendations aligned with research priorities
- Own data lifecycle, coordinating across teams (Legal, Compliance, Data Engineering, Procurement, etc.) to deliver datasets in a timely manner
- Drive long-term data projects to completion
- Build and maintain relationships with data vendors
- Attend conferences and industry events
- Grow and maintain PDT's central data repository
Requirements
- Demonstrated passion for quantitative finance, trading, and data science
- Experience with programming and data analysis/statistical modeling preferred
- Self-starter, strong sense of ownership
- Detail-oriented, desire to understand issues deeply, incredibly organized
- Strong communication, project management, and interpersonal skills
