About the Role
The Director, Sales Operations is responsible for owning, standardizing, and continuously improving the commercial operating system across the organization. This corporate role collaborates with all sales regions in North America, enabling Sales Leadership and P&L owners to execute consistently by providing clear processes, disciplined governance, and effective tools. The role addresses structural issues in sales execution and brings process excellence to an area historically driven by individual experience rather than system discipline. The corporate Customer Experience function will report into this role, increasing the probability that customer feedback results in retention, growth, and operational improvement.
Responsibilities
- Own and maintain the front-end sales operating model, including contract approval workflows, limits of authority, and clear rules for cross-region customer operations.
- Partner with Legal, Finance, and Credit to make risk explicit and decision-ready.
- Ensure P&L leaders have visibility before commitments are made.
- Act as business owner of Salesforce, managing process design, usage standards, and reporting logic.
- Drive Salesforce adoption by defining how and why it is used, aligning funnel structure with business needs, and creating standard dashboards.
- Reduce system noise in Salesforce to support decisions rather than administration.
- Define and enforce consistent funnel management practices.
- Provide forward-looking visibility on revenue concentration by factory, asset type, industry, salesperson, and other necessary cuts.
- Enable proactive capacity and production discussions.
- Drive development of sales plans for execution.
- Enable consolidation of sales data for the Group.
- Implement standardized reporting on contract tenure mix, payment terms exposure, and aggregate liability commitments.
- Make commercial risk measured, visible, and discussable.
- Design and institutionalize a formal sales onboarding and training framework.
- Develop role-specific training, including Salesforce usage and contract basics.
- Build a repeatable cadence for sales meetings to drive consistent themes and execution.
- Administer the sales incentive program, including consistent publishing of performance vs. targets.
- Manage the corporate CX program, ensuring alignment between customer voice, CX data, Salesforce, sales initiatives, and operational priorities.
- Implement a closed-loop system to transform customer feedback into concrete, prioritized, and measurable actions.
- Enhance customer-centric culture by making CX issues visible, actionable, and integrated into sales and operational cadences.
