About the Role
AMD is hiring an MTS Silicon Design Engineer to research, design, develop, and test electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing. This role involves overseeing ASIC development, defining architecture, and ensuring successful product realization.
Responsibilities
- Research, design, develop, and test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing.
- Oversee definition, design, verification, and documentation for ASIC development.
- Determine architecture design, logic design, and system simulation.
- Define module interfaces and formats for simulation.
- Lead the development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits.
- Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use.
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop ASIC/layout design and address complex issues.
- Drive projects or processes of significant technical importance.
- Exercise independent judgment to select methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
- Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics to resolve complex issues.
- Apply engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of AMD products.
Requirements
- One (1) year of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
- Design experience in sub-micron processes.
- Experience implementing CPU/GPU architectures for PPA work.
- Experience with power-analysis and measurement tools including Prime Power or Power-Artist.
- Experience with high performance clocking.
- Experience with STA methodologies for timing closure, OCV.
- Experience with scripting languages including Perl, Tcl, and Python.
- Experience with data analysis and interpretation.
- Experience with logic, circuit design, and CAD tools for high-performance design CPU and or GPU architecture.
