About the Role

eMed is seeking a Delivery Lead to provide clear direction, structure, and visibility across its Engineering pillars. This new role offers an opportunity to shape delivery practices, establish strong working methods, and make a tangible impact on product roadmap planning, management, and delivery as the company grows. The role involves coordinating delivery across all pillars and leading UK delivery operations, with a US-based colleague reporting to you to form an integrated delivery function.

Responsibilities

  • Run delivery planning across pillars, sequencing work, recording dependencies, and updating Jira status.
  • Forecast delivery with date ranges and confidence levels, narrowing the range as milestones complete.
  • Work with product and engineering managers to break initiatives into epics with clear scope, technical approach, and owner.
  • Record a named person from each pillar when work spans multiple pillars.
  • Support pillar leads when urgent work displaces planned work, ensuring affected parties are informed of revised dates.
  • Build the delivery practice, including planning cadence, status reporting, release coordination, and measurement of forecast accuracy and delivery predictability.
  • Work with the QA team on test planning and release readiness.
  • Agree on a unified delivery plan and reporting format with the US colleague for consistent stakeholder communication.
  • Split coverage across UK and US hours to provide timely delivery answers.
  • Report delivery status, dates, and risks to executive, engineering leadership, and commercial teams.
  • Quickly answer senior leader questions on status, dates, and risks.
  • Proactively inform senior stakeholders of at-risk dates, explaining the cause, impact, and new range.
  • Write concise, two-minute updates for senior leaders.
  • Utilize AI tools for daily work, including producing status reports from Jira, Slack, and meeting notes, summarizing risks and dependencies, building and checking delivery forecasts, and quickly finding information.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years in delivery management, programme management, or technical project management at a software product company.
  • Experience coordinating several engineering teams that share a platform and depend on each other's work.
  • Experience reporting to and working with executives, providing clear answers under questioning.
  • Regular, hands-on use of AI tools in your work, with demonstrable examples.
  • Experience forecasting delivery with ranges or probabilistic methods.
  • Experience working with colleagues in the US, or managing someone in another time zone.
  • Sufficient technical understanding to discuss architecture, integration, and release risk with engineers.
  • Strong working knowledge of Jira.
  • Experience in healthcare or another regulated industry (Desirable).
  • Experience delivering integrations or launches for B2B clients and partners (Desirable).
