About the Role
You will own how Cosmo ships, ensuring timely and correct releases across firmware, software, and cloud services. This includes managing the release calendar, readiness reviews, go/no-go calls, staged firmware rollouts, and maintaining release tooling.
Responsibilities
- Own the release calendar and versioning for firmware OTA updates, mobile app releases, and backend deployments.
- Run release readiness reviews and go/no-go calls, coordinating release-night execution with engineering, QA, support, and offshore teams.
- Manage staged FOTA rollouts, including defining cohorts and stages, monitoring device health, and pausing or rolling back when needed.
- Own code freezes, including holiday freezes, and the exception process.
- Own pre-release builds and distribution for UAT, internal testing, influencers, and media.
- Own the release configuration in Jira, including fix versions, release workflows, and automated release notes.
- Plan release and incident coverage for holidays and high-risk launches, with clear escalation paths.
- Write and maintain release runbooks.
- Track release quality after every release and share learnings with the Sr TPM and engineering leads.
Requirements
- 4+ years in release management, release coordination, or a closely related role.
- Hands-on experience releasing software for connected devices, consumer electronics, wearables, or IoT, including firmware updates in the field.
- Working knowledge of branching and release strategies, CI/CD pipelines, and QA cycles.
- Experience with app store review cycles and staged rollouts.
- Strong Jira skills, including versions, release workflows, and automation rules.
- Calm, clear communication when a release is at risk, and the confidence to call a no-go.
- Experience coordinating releases with offshore teams across time zones.
