About the Role
The Technical Manager role focuses on advising clients on the Building Safety Act and associated legislation, and delivering Building Regulations Principal Designer services. You will collaborate with a team of construction professionals and stakeholders to provide technical advice on project compliance, ensuring high client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Advise clients on the Building Safety Act and support compliance with evolving regulations.
- Fulfill the Principal Designer duties under the Building Regulations 2010.
- Monitor and review design processes and technical documents to ensure Building Regulations compliance.
- Assess designer competence and address issues via compliance trackers and Mandatory Occurrence reports.
- Coordinate design teams in preparing applications to the Building Safety Regulator (BSR).
- Build and maintain productive relationships with external design teams.
- Support project governance tasks, including updating project calendars and preparing monthly reports with the Management Lead.
- Assist in the delivery of broader building safety services as needed.
- Take personal responsibility for health and safety by working within company H&S procedures.
- Endeavor to improve social and environmental impact.
- Perform any other duties as reasonably required.
Requirements
- Broad knowledge of the Building Regulations, ideally covering varied disciplines.
- Experience working within CDM and construction Health & Safety.
- Awareness or knowledge of the Building Safety Act.
- Chartered, or working towards Chartership with either RICS, RIBA, RIAS, MCIAT or equivalent.
- Client-oriented approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality advice and supporting clients in achieving their objectives.
- Confidence when dealing with various stakeholders, including contractors and clients.
- CAD/Revit experience is desired but not essential.
