About the Role
J.S. Held is seeking a commercially driven and technically accomplished Senior Project Manager - Industrial Hygiene to join our Industrial Hygiene & the Built Environment team. This is a high-impact, entrepreneurial leadership role ideal for a professional with deep expertise in Industrial Hygiene, combined with a strong track record in client development, strategic growth, and market expansion. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving the growth and profitability of our Industrial Hygiene & the Build Environment practice across the region.
Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, leveraging your industry network and market insight.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to shape service offerings, go-to-market strategies, and regional positioning.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients across sectors including real estate, insurance, legal, construction, industry, and public agencies.
- Lead proposal development, client presentations, and contract negotiations to secure high-value projects.
- Drive revenue growth through strategic account management and cross-functional collaboration.
- Oversee and contribute to a wide range of EH&S projects, including Industrial Hygiene assessments, environmental investigations and property assessments, and exposure assessments, risk characterization, and mitigation planning.
- Ensure technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and client satisfaction across all project phases.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams in the planning, execution, and delivery of complex environmental and health & safety initiatives.
- Develop and implement quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) protocols to maintain high technical standards.
- Provide strategic guidance on emerging EH&S trends, technologies, and regulatory changes.
- Mentor junior staff and foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Collaborate with clients to define project goals, manage expectations, and deliver tailored solutions.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate project success and drive operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in industrial hygiene, EH&S, or environmental consulting.
- Experience managing projects, including scope, budget, schedule, fieldwork, and client communication.
- Technical experience with industrial hygiene assessments, including asbestos, lead, mold, indoor air quality, and exposure monitoring.
- Knowledge of applicable OSHA, EPA, NIOSH, and state/local requirements.
- Strong technical writing, communication, and client-management skills.
