Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including ASIC and mechanical engineers, to create and refine thermal and mechanical solutions for products incorporating AMD silicon.
- Support customers through all stages of thermal design and debugging, from initial simulations and feasibility studies to final product testing and release.
- Assist customers in mechanical design, including the development of enclosures, heat sinks, and other components to align with thermal management strategies.
- Engage with customers to collect feedback, address thermal and mechanical issues, and offer recommendations to enhance system designs.
- Design and conduct training sessions for customers on the proper use and maintenance of thermal and mechanical systems.
- Compile detailed reports and presentations outlining the design process and thermal performance metrics.
- Offer continuous support for customer adoption, suggesting improvements and updates in thermal and mechanical designs.
- Provide expert guidelines on thermal management and mechanical configurations, including material selection and assembly procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex product issues with customers.
- Foster strong, ongoing relationships with customers, acting as a technical advisor.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
- Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field and five (5) years of progressive post baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
Skills
- Thermal and mechanical design software such as SolidWorks, ANSYS Mechanical, FloTherm, and ICEPAK
- Conducting simulations, feasibility studies, and detailed performance analysis
- Troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving complex thermal and mechanical issues
- Thermal mechanical systems testing and validation
- Scripting for automation and customization of processes
- Product development with hardware platforms, and software and firmware ecosystems
