About the Role

The Product Manager will be the single-threaded product owner for the Enterprise Ledger, an AI-enabled, autonomous banking platform for Tier-1 financial institutions. This role requires deep core-accounting and ledger expertise, an engineering foundation, and end-to-end ownership of product development. The Ledger is the flagship component, serving as the real-time, double-entry system of record for the entire bank.

Responsibilities

  • Define the Ledger strategy and adoption sequencing, balancing primitives to invest in and determining what lives in the thin engine versus declarative policy.
  • Own non-discretionary change, including emerging asset types, multi-asset scoping, card-authorisation hold rules, and audit and retention expectations.
  • Define success metrics for the roadmap, including posting latency and throughput, balance invariants, coexistence parity, reconciliation breaks, and safe rollout/rollback.
  • Serve as the internal product authority on double-entry accounting, accounts and balances, holds and pending states, settlement, multicurrency and multi-asset ledgers, and GL integration.
  • Collaborate with clients to define product requirements, whiteboarding posting and settlement lifecycles, and identifying minimum viable reusable capabilities.
  • Convert client and field signals into reusable balance types, policies, and primitives, and countersign client commitments that impact the roadmap.
  • Constructively challenge clients and internal experts with evidence and document decisions.
  • Define ledger APIs, events, account and balance models, transfer and instruction semantics, error semantics, and acceptance criteria.
  • Define technical details such as idempotent instructions, two-phase movement, hold timeouts, monotonic posted totals, replayable history, product-version sealing, and safety gates.
  • Own product contracts with various internal teams including Orchestration, Customer, Reg & Compliance, Reconciliation, Data, Command Centre, Product & Pricing, and incumbent cores.
  • Own the 'what', 'why', 'priority', and 'acceptance criteria' for the product, while engineering owns architecture, implementation, and estimates.

Requirements

  • Deep, hands-on expertise in a core-banking ledger, deposit or lending system of record, card-issuing ledger, or high-volume financial ledger, with personal ownership of its posting, holding, settlement, and reconciliation processes.
  • Working command of double-entry invariants, pending versus posted balances, authorisation holds and expiries, settlement and finality, value dating, reversals and corrections, period close, and GL mapping.
  • Practical exposure to product configuration on a ledger (interest, fees, limits, overdraft, sweeps).
  • 4+ years owning a technical product or platform end to end, with at least one taken through launch, adoption, and iteration.
  • Engineering background or equivalent hands-on record, typically 3+ years building, shipping, and operating production software.
  • Fluent in APIs, event-driven and distributed systems, data and state modelling, reliability, security, and observability.
  • Strong ownership mindset, focusing on outcomes and shipping product.
  • High agency and ability to write the playbook when none exists.
  • Technically credible and commercially grounded, able to earn trust with senior engineers, finance, treasury, operations, core-banking experts, risk, audit teams, and executives.
  • Clear writer, capable of turning complex rules into unambiguous decisions.
  • AI-native, using analytics, telemetry, and AI-assisted workflows as the default operating mode.
