About the Role

This role exists to open new venues in the on-trade channel, starting with local pubs, gastropubs, and casual-dining spots in west London, Surrey, and the Thames Valley. You will build relationships with GMs, bar managers, and owners to secure listings and drive sales, working closely with wholesalers to ensure order fulfillment. As the first field hire, your work will shape the growth of the on-trade team.

Responsibilities

Open the right venues, starting with existing contacts.
Turn existing relationships into early listings and build from there.
Map the assigned territory, focusing on pubs, restaurants, and hotels.
Promote Mother Root as an aperitif and in the no-alcohol section.
Qualify venues based on being food-led with a drinks menu.
Win listings with small independent groups and roll out across their sites.
Ensure listings are sustainable and successful.
Utilize the sales proposition to secure listings without additional commercial support.
Train bar and floor teams on the perfect serve.
Follow up with venues at week 4 and week 12 to assess menu performance and address issues.
Leverage customer support effectively.
Manage the route to market.
Collaborate with wholesale partners and their representatives.
Maintain the On-Trade Accounts tracker with venue, order, and reorder information.
Gather feedback from venues and staff to improve the serve, pricing, and support.

Requirements

Approximately two or more years of experience selling into pubs, restaurants, or bars in west London, Surrey, or the Thames Valley.
Proven ability to open accounts from a cold start.
Established relationships within the local on-trade sector.
Ability to assess a venue and determine the best time to pitch.
Skill in explaining the financial benefits of a serve to venue managers.
Proficiency in planning routes, logging visits, and following up on commitments.
Resilience and ability to learn from rejections.
A full UK driving licence.
Experience using AI support platforms in daily work.
