About the Role
This position involves preparing and delivering meals for the Jefferson County Senior Nutrition Program within a correctional setting. The role requires preparing and serving food items, driving a company vehicle for deliveries, and assisting with loading, unloading, and delivering goods.
Responsibilities
- Learn the delivery area.
- Check orders for quality and accuracy.
- Follow proper delivery procedures.
- Help with food preparation, serving, and kitchen maintenance.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, maintaining a neat and food-safe workstation.
- Load, unload, and deliver products and orders promptly.
- Report any necessary vehicle maintenance or repairs to the manager.
- Perform routine kitchen tasks, maintaining organization and cleanliness.
- Keep the vehicle clean.
- Prepare quality foods according to the planned menu, recipes, and work instructions.
- Pull trash, sweep, and mop.
- Serve food during planned meal schedules according to department procedures.
- Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes.
- Physical demands include lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods.
- Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift when not driving.
- Other responsibilities as determined by needs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience is preferred.
