Responsibilities
- Ensure personal and team safety.
- Understand and adhere to RAM and SOS Briefings.
- Hold the correct qualifications for the role.
- Report near misses, incidents, or accidents to the JGL Supervisor.
- Maintain a neat and tidy work area.
- Carry out and enforce the H&S policy.
- Use mobile phones only in designated and safe areas.
- Ensure proper use of protective clothing and PPE.
- Correctly use, store, and dispose of COSHH materials.
- Operate only authorized and trained plant or equipment.
- Respect exclusion zones and keep tools/plant in safe places.
- Report damaged or worn plant to the lead miner.
- Clean plant and tools at the end of the shift.
- Minimize manual handling by using mechanical handling where possible.
- Stack materials only in designated areas, ensuring clear escape routes and doorways.
- Ensure lifting operations are conducted by approved persons.
- Verify all permits are in place before commencing work.
Requirements
- Must ensure personal and team safety.
- Must understand and sign up in every RAM and SOS Briefing.
- Must hold the correct qualification for the role.
- Must report any near miss, incident or accident to JGL Supervisor.
- Must ensure work area is neat and tidy at all times.
- Must carry out and enforce H&S policy to create a safe workplace.
- Must use phone in designated areas only and in a safe way.
- Must make sure that you and the rest of your team wear protective clothing and PPE.
- Must ensure all COSHH materials are used, stored and disposed of correctly.
- Must never operate plant or equipment that you are neither authorized nor trained to use.
- Must respect the exclusion zones at all times.
- Must report any damaged or worn plant to lead miner.
- Must ensure all plant and tools are cleaned at the end of the shift if not in further use.
- Must try to eliminate manual handling so far as is reasonably practicably.
- Must stack materials in designated areas ensuring that escape routes, doorways, etc., are not obstructed.
- Must ensure lifting operations are carried out by approved persons.
- Must ensure all permits are in place before commencing work.
