About the Role
Joseph Gallagher Ltd is seeking an experienced Nozzleman for tunnelling and heavy civil engineering operations on major UK infrastructure projects. The role is key to the safe and effective application of sprayed concrete lining (SCL) in shafts, tunnels, and underground structures.
Responsibilities
- Operate spray concrete equipment for Sprayed Concrete Lining (SCL) installation.
- Apply sprayed concrete according to project specifications and quality standards.
- Collaborate with Tunnel Managers, Shift Engineers, and Mining Supervisors.
- Perform pre-use inspections and basic maintenance on spraying equipment.
- Adhere to project Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures.
- Monitor concrete quality, rebound levels, and finished profiles.
- Support tunnel and shaft activities as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and reporting of completed work.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an SCL Nozzleman in tunnelling or underground construction.
- Valid CSCS Card.
- Experience working in tunnels, shafts, or other underground environments.
- Good understanding of sprayed concrete application techniques and quality standards.
- Ability to work safely in high-risk construction environments.
- Flexible approach to working shifts, nights, and weekends.
