About the Role
7-Eleven is seeking a motivated Field Operations Intern to gain real-world experience in the fast-paced convenience retail environment. This paid summer internship program immerses participants in various facets of the business, culminating in a project presentation. Interns will interact with key stakeholders and learn essential skills for success at 7-Eleven.
Responsibilities
- Experience an orientation introducing 7-Eleven's history, culture, strategy, and structure.
- Complete a 2-3 week in-store experience to learn operational standards, policies, and procedures.
- Attend 1 week of virtual classroom training on the Area Leader role and merchandising principles.
- Gain foundational store-level knowledge through an Area Leader shadow experience.
- Support and consult store operators to help them increase sales and generate more gross profit.
- Complete a project assignment focused on building sales and gross profit through merchandising.
- Present a case study on key learnings from the project assignment.
Requirements
- Rising Junior, rising Senior, or graduate class standing preferred.
- Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Strong interest in working in retail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Basic understanding of retail and management principles.
- Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously, stay organized, and focus on details.
