About the Role
As our Engineering Lead for the US market, you will own Parallel's technical roadmap for the US and be the first engineering leader in our New York office. You will make our product work for US hospitals, ship it into our first pilots, and build the New York engineering team around you.
Responsibilities
- Own the US technical roadmap, deciding what to build, in what order, and with whom, in alignment with Paris.
- Adapt the core engine to US coding standards (ICD-10-CM/PCS, MS-DRG, APR-DRG), build US test sets, and measure accuracy.
- Integrate agents with US EHRs (Meditech, Oracle Health, Altera) using ScreenFlow.
- Handle US data formats including 837I claims, HL7, and C-CDA.
- Set up and manage the US hosting environment, access controls, logging, HIPAA technical safeguards, and SOC 2 technical aspects.
- Lead security reviews with hospital IT teams.
- Deploy Parallel at first US pilot hospitals with the Forward Deployed Engineer and ensure ongoing operation.
- Hire and lead New York engineers, setting the standard, pace, and culture for the office.
Requirements
- 4 to 8 years in software engineering.
- At least 2 years of experience leading a small team or serving as a tech lead.
- Proven experience shipping a product that handles US patient data, including HIPAA compliance, BAAs, and security reviews with hospital IT.
- Experience building EHR integrations (HL7, FHIR), ideally with Meditech, Oracle Health (Cerner), or Altera.
- Experience with LLMs or ML in production is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively with a team in Paris, 6 hours ahead.
