About the Role

We are seeking a Product Engineer who can build user-facing products, APIs, and tools, and understand the underlying systems to ensure production reliability. This role is for an individual who can take a loosely defined problem, determine user needs, and own the solution from design and coding to shipping and debugging.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive user-facing products end to end, including web apps, APIs, backend services and CLI tools, mostly in Go.
  • Ship the simplest useful version first, then improve it based on user feedback.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure, Data Centre Operations, Security, and Customer Support to turn customer problems into practical solutions.
  • Build and maintain Kubernetes-based services, controllers, and platform capabilities, including GPU scheduling and container runtimes.
  • Identify and automate repetitive operational tasks.
  • Investigate production issues across application code, Kubernetes, containers, Linux, networking, drivers, and hardware, implementing lasting fixes, guardrails, or improved tooling.
  • Design services that perform well under load and failure, with comprehensive instrumentation for debugging and secure defaults.
  • Contribute ideas and take ownership beyond the core remit, including product decisions on workflow and interface.

Requirements

  • Strong professional experience building, debugging, and operating production software in Go, or deep experience in another systems language with a demonstrated ability to become productive in Go quickly.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containers, including workload scheduling, service communication, and troubleshooting.
  • Confidence in Linux environments, including systemd, processes, signals, filesystems, permissions, networking, and CPU/memory diagnostics.
  • A track record of personally designed and built systems, products, or tools.
  • Solid engineering fundamentals in concurrency, API/interface design, and failure modes.
  • Practical experience troubleshooting production systems using logs, metrics, and system-level tooling.
  • Familiarity with the NVIDIA GPU ecosystem (drivers, CUDA, nvidia-smi, GPU-enabled container runtimes, Kubernetes GPU scheduling) is a plus.
  • Experience with distributed and event-driven systems (queues, retries, idempotency, backpressure) is beneficial.
  • Practical networking knowledge (DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP, load balancing) is helpful.
  • Experience building Kubernetes controllers or operators, or developer tooling for other engineers, is a plus.
  • A security-minded approach to auth, secrets, and attack surfaces is a plus.
